Dance recital

The girls had their Christmas dance recital last night. It was so cute. For the finale Avery was a Christmas tree and Maddie was Cindy lo Who. The theme was the grinch. They both love dance!

My little Pilgrims!

The girls both had Thanksgiving Feasts at preschool. Here they are in their Pilgrim attire!

Date Night

When Adam's dad was here he took Emily and I on a date. We had so much fun. We went to this little Italian restaurant by Emily's house and ate pizza. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful father in law. I also have the best sister in laws in the world! We missed you Johanna and Melanie!

Fun with Grandpa

Adams Dad was here a couple weeks ago. We went to Emily's house and the kids had a blast playing with Grandpa. Mike is such a cute Grandpa and really gets down and plays with the kids. We love you Grandpa Westover!

Disneyland 2008

We had a blast at Disneyland! We started our trip off by spending the day at Newport Beach and Balboa Island. The girls had so much fun running around and playing at the beach. I wish we could have spent more time there. We were then off to Disneyland for four days. Avery's favorite rides were the tea cups (it makes me sick thinking about it :)) and the carousel. Madison loved the matterhorn, space mountain, and soaring over California. We had lunch with the princesses, which I totally recommend! It was great! The girls got me meet and have the princesses sign their books and have their pictures taken with each princess. They had such a fun time. Over all we had such a wonderful trip. I was sad to leave and think that is the last time Disneyland will be this way for my girls. Next time we come, they will be older and not appreciate the characters they way they did this time. It was so nice to have those five days as a family. With Adam gone as much as he is, it was so nice having him all to ourselves! I can't wait to go back again!

Halloween

This year for Halloween Madison was a ballerina and Avery was a butterfly. We went to my Mom's for dinner and trick-or-treating and then to my Grandma's house for more trick-or-treating. The girls both had a great time and could not get enough of running from house to house.

What we have been up to

The circus was in town a couple of weeks ago. We went to the elephant parade at The Gateway. The girls loved seeing the elephants, the dancers and the rest of the circus people. They got their arms painted, coloring books, popcorn and cotton candy. Not a bad way to spend an hour!

Brooke's dog had another litter of puppies. The girls loved going over to play with them. They would have loved to take one home. I think 3 dogs would have been a crowd! Izzie and Sarge will do for now!

Adam's favorite country singer David Allen Coe came to SLC. We went to his concert with our friends Brooke and Trevor. We went and ate at Squatters and then headed to the concert. It was at this tiny bar in SLC. What a fun night we had!

Over Labor Day, our friends Monica and Jim and their daughter Jessie came to visit from Denver. We took them to the Uintas for the weekend. We had a blast 4-wheeling, fishing, hiking, and hanging out. We miss them so much. They are like our second family. The girls especially had fun with Jessie.

Soccer came and went very quickly! The girls had fun running and playing with their friends. It was cute to see all these 3 and 4 year olds running around the ball like a swarm of bees!

The girls both started preschool in September. They are both loving school. I am loving that I have 1 1/2 hours to myself twice a week! It is hard to belive Avery is already old enough to go to school. She and Madison both look forward to school everyday!

What the.....Snow??

We woke up to 6 inches of snow yesterday! You would have thought it was Christmas. The girls were so excited and could not wait to play outside. They spent a good part of the day playing in the snow. Isn't it just the first part of October? Im not sure im ready for winter yet. But the girls sure are!

tomatoes coming out of my ears

I cannot believe what I found when I went out to my garden tonight! It was out of control. I picked close to 20 tomatoes, 3 cucumbers, 6 bell peppers, 10 jalapeno peppers, and over 15 cherry tomatoes. What happened while I was gone? My garden is on steroids. I have no idea what I am going to do with all these tomatoes! I think I was overly excited to plant a garden this year (in addition to every thing else I planted 6 tomato plants). When we lived out of state, I craved a good ole Utah tomato. Adam makes fun of me for saying that Utah tomatoes are better than any other, but it is true. I guess I was making up for 7 years of lost tomato time. At this rate I will be eating tomatoes every day until Christmas!

The "BIG" 3oooooh

Yes, that is right, I am going to be turning 30 this week. Oooh, I am so depressed about the whole event. How does it go by so fast? It seems like yesterday that I turned 20. Now I am getting old way too fast. But, on a lighter note, Adam and I met our great friends from Denver in Vegas for the weekend. We had so much fun. My girlfriend Julie also turned 30 this month, so we decided to ring in the event on a positive note. We stayed at the Palazzo hotel (which was absolutly gorgeous), hung out by the pool, shopped (of course), gambled, and ate great food (sushi, sushi, sushi). It was such a fun weekend. Grandma Westover came and watched the girls for us. Thanks again Kathleen!

All in all, I have to say I really enjoyed and accomplished alot during my 20's. I married the most wonderful husband ever, graduated college, moved 5 times to different states (Montana twice), had 2 beautiful little girls, ran 2 marathons, owned 5 different homes, met so many wonderful friends, went on fabulous trips, got my wish to live close to family, and just had a great 10 years. Hopefully my 30's will be just as great if not better!

Avery's swim lessons

Avery started swim lessons last week. It amazes me how well she is doing in only a week. She gets more and more comfortable in the water after each lesson.

Bear Lake

A couple weekends ago we went to Bear Lake with our good friends the Gold's. We had a blast. The girls loved playing at the beach and swimming in the lake. Avery was just a little worried about the fishies sucking on her toes :) Madison (our cautious child) rode on the tube behind the wave runner! I could not belive when she said she wanted to go. Avery wouldn't have anything to do with it. We loved it up there. It is so beautiful! We are lucky because we get to go again this weekend. This time Adam will be in town to go with us. Thanks Brooke and the Whittakers!
