December update

The month of December went by with a whirlwind! Adam and I went to New York the first part of December. It was great we met up with friends of ours from Denver and had a blast. We saw the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular, The little Mermaid (on broadway), shopped, ate great food, and really got into the Christmas spirit! We went last year in December, and I have to say that there is nothing like Christmas time in NYC! My mom watched the girls half the time and Emily watched them the other half. Thanks to them for that!

We got home from New York and it was almost time for Christmas. We took the girls to see the Christmas lights with the Gold family. It was freezing, but we had a great time.

I had Knee surgery the friday before Christmas. I tore my meniscus and had a meniscul cyst. I know it sounds like lots of fun, but I'm glad I got it over with. I am doing great and I am riding the bike. No running for at least 4 more weeks :( That means no SLC marathon for me this year, but maybe I will be able to squeeze one in later in the year.

For Christmas Eve we went to my Mom and Daves. It was fun! We started this tradition last year. It is just easier for everyone. The girls opened presents and played with Gracie. We had a great dinner and drove back home to have Christmas morning at our house.

Christmas Day was great! The girls actually slept in until 8:00 am! Wow! We opened presents, had breakfast, and got ready for the day. Madison and Avery both got American Girl bitty-babies, movies, puzzles, polly pockets, and barbies. Madison was most excited about her wedding barbie and Avery was excited about her barbie guitar! I was more excited about the American Girl babies than they were (go figure)! We decided to go see a movie on Christmas day. We saw Marley and Me. I was so excited to see the movie. I read the book a couple years ago and loved it! Marley reminds us of Sarge! The girls really enjoyed it as well. Todd came up to go to the movie with us, so that was nice. We then went home and Emily and Tom and their kiddos came over for Christmas dinner. The kids played, we ate ,and played the wii. Adam and I decided to get a wii at the last minute the week before Christmas. We also got rock band. We have had a blast playing that!

For New Years we drove to Denver and spent time with friends there. We had a great time and loved seeing all our friends!

We hope you all had a great Christmas holiday! The best for 2009!

Dance recital

The girls had their Christmas dance recital last night. It was so cute. For the finale Avery was a Christmas tree and Maddie was Cindy lo Who. The theme was the grinch. They both love dance!

My little Pilgrims!

The girls both had Thanksgiving Feasts at preschool. Here they are in their Pilgrim attire!

Date Night

When Adam's dad was here he took Emily and I on a date. We had so much fun. We went to this little Italian restaurant by Emily's house and ate pizza. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful father in law. I also have the best sister in laws in the world! We missed you Johanna and Melanie!

Fun with Grandpa

Adams Dad was here a couple weeks ago. We went to Emily's house and the kids had a blast playing with Grandpa. Mike is such a cute Grandpa and really gets down and plays with the kids. We love you Grandpa Westover!

Disneyland 2008

We had a blast at Disneyland! We started our trip off by spending the day at Newport Beach and Balboa Island. The girls had so much fun running around and playing at the beach. I wish we could have spent more time there. We were then off to Disneyland for four days. Avery's favorite rides were the tea cups (it makes me sick thinking about it :)) and the carousel. Madison loved the matterhorn, space mountain, and soaring over California. We had lunch with the princesses, which I totally recommend! It was great! The girls got me meet and have the princesses sign their books and have their pictures taken with each princess. They had such a fun time. Over all we had such a wonderful trip. I was sad to leave and think that is the last time Disneyland will be this way for my girls. Next time we come, they will be older and not appreciate the characters they way they did this time. It was so nice to have those five days as a family. With Adam gone as much as he is, it was so nice having him all to ourselves! I can't wait to go back again!
